JA
02 Artist Statement
When first learning the art of photography, I struggled a lot. My film ripped countless times, was full of light leaks, and I was lucky to get one decent shot. After weeks of frustration and bad prints, I finally started to get the hang of it. From there on out I enjoyed taking time in my shots and looked forward to the outcome. Struggling in the beginning gave me a new perspective on the art itself. Once I became better, I enjoyed looking for beauty in everyday objects. I did this because there is always beauty around us, you just have to look at things from a different perspective. I love playing with texture and lines as well as having an obvious focal point. This class has taught me to see beauty in many different aspects and I am now blessed with an eye for photography.
